Cultural Gap ¢̣
When American Dream encounters Chinese Dream, what would unfold?

President Obama might be a good embodiment for American Dream, and he will soon kick off his tour in China, a country oozing confidence and vitality, but still on an arduous journey to achieving its dream of a peaceful rise. China¡¯s economy may be lagging behind the U.S., but it is miles ahead in national spirit and patriotism, which has been manifested not only by important events like the 2009 Beijing Olympics but the massive disasters like the deadly Sichuan earthquake.

What is striking to casual visitors to China, however, is the extent to which the Chinese people have already adopted some attitudes that made America great. But as the country is still developing, its people are cultivating a sense of national pride with the rising national strength, and therefore, the Chinese Dream may be tinted with some Chinese characteristics.

Admit or not, there must be something overlapping in between American Dream and Chinese Dream, while some differences appear in stark contrast with each other.
